The Stroop Test
Choose the ink color of each word, not the word itself. Work quickly and try to stay accurate.
Tip: press 1–4 to answer with your keyboard.
Test your focus with the Stroop Test. Identify the color of the ink rather than reading the word, and see how accurately and quickly you can respond.
How to play
Each round shows a color word printed in colored ink. Choose the ink color, even when the word names a different color. Complete all 20 rounds to see your accuracy and average response time for correct answers. You can click or tap an answer, or use the number keys 1 through 4.
What is the Stroop effect?
The Stroop effect describes the extra difficulty people can experience when the meaning of a word conflicts with the color in which it is printed. This quick activity is for practice and entertainment, not a clinical assessment.
